Welcome to our new newsletters page!! Check back here often! We’ll not only be updating our news page each month, but there could be special news posted as well!!
Crystal and I proud to announce the birth of our daughter Sunnie Bella!! She was born Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:58 pm. She weighed 6 lbs, 3.4 oz and was 19 inches long. We came home today and are resting comfortably!! Mother, baby and Dad are doing great!!
Thank you Lord for your blessings!!
Praise the Lord in all things!
Well, this could very well be the last newsletter for a while, but for good reason. It seems that our little girl could be here soon!! We are so excited and are blessed! Of course, I'll take the time to brag and post something here or Facebook announcing the news as soon as I can. And yes, there will be plenty of pictures I'm sure!
Crystal and I have been busy getting the nursery ready - and I think we are done...thank the Lord!! She has had a great pregnancy and I know she would say the same thing. However, now she says she's ready for her to get here! I think she may be a bit uncomfortable!! Our doctor has advised her to slow down - which pretty much means to stop - singing for a while. So, with that, she is officially on maternity leave from the group!! Haha! With days to go - she's decided it was time!! Unfortunately, we had to postpone our singing at Ellistown Baptist in Blue Springs, MS. A return date hasn't been set at this time.
Rachel has been busy keeping up with her now 1 year old! Bailey Grace had a great party I hear and she is just as fun as ever!!
Ashley has now started school and she's ok with it!! Haha!!
Since it was just a couple of weeks ago since our last Sonlight News, I knew this was going to be short!! But, we are all well and blessed beyond belief!
Oh!! We have a new "Behind the Scenes" page that is hosted on another site. It's called Qik.com (pronounced quick). It's a way to use our cell phone's as a streaming device or video share site. It's really cool! Although we don't have any videos on here yet, we will. Our page is here. Of course, you can still keep up with us on Facebook, our schedule and try to get a chance to see Bama Blu-Grace.
We love you all! Come see us soon!
In Christ,
Josh
Another saint has made her way home! Praise the Lord!
First, let me apologize for getting this newsletter out to you so late! The Sonlight Singers haven’t been that busy over the last month as we have taken some summer vacation time – however, the Wards have been VERY busy getting our nest built for the little one that should be coming soon!! More on that in a moment.
Again, with a heavy heart, I come to you with a bit of sad news. I told you last month about our dear “Granny” that went on to be with the Lord. We also got close to her roommate, Ms. Lera Higgins of Hamilton, MS. She too has joined her roommate once again singing praises unto the Lord around His throne! She will be missed dearly by us, however we have the hope to see her again!! The Father has truly blessed our lives by our acquaintance and friendship. Thanks Ms. Lera – YOU were the inspiration! Tell Granny hello for us!!
Like I said before, Crystal and I have been very busy on getting thing ready for the baby. The bags are packed, the room is ready and I still feel like we are forgetting something! Although, I’ve heard we’ll feel like that for the rest of our lives!! Haha!!
Rachel is doing great as is Bailey Grace, who will be celebrating her 1st birthday Tuesday!! I’ve finally got some pictures of her up in our photo album! Go by and check it out!
Ashley is doing great as well and will start back to school on Thursday. She remains quiet about her return!!
I’m excited to tell you about our Comments & Reviews page! I’ve been waiting to get this started but could only get a Coming Soon page up. We are honored that the folks on this page think about us enough to refer us to you. We hope this will help in your decision to have The Sonlight Singers at your next worship service / event.
CD UPDATE
Basically – we’re still awaiting the masters to get back to us. We hope soon. Thanks for waiting so patiently.
Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and our upcoming schedule and of course our dear friend's schedule – Bama Blu-Grace.
We love you all! Come see us soon!
In Christ,
Josh
THE LORD IS GOOD!! PRAISE BE UNTO THE LORD ALMIGHTY!!
I come with a heavy heart to this newsletter, but a joyous one as well. As most of you know, we have decided to take a ministry of going to Riverplace Nursing Home once a month on the first Saturday of the month. This is something we really look forward to each month and will continue to do so as long as the Lord sees fit. Since we’ve been going there – about 2 years or so – we have gotten to know and have become close to several of the residents. One in particular has always been there and we would spend some extra time with her at the close of our singing. She adopted us as her grandchildren and we took her as our “Granny.” On June 13, 2010 around noon, our Granny – Ms. Willie Causie – went home to be with the Lord. Every time we would see her, she always said she was ready to see Jesus and was thankful for the life He blessed her with. We thank Him for her life, her example & friendship we shared with her. Granny, we love and miss you dearly. We will see you again!
Rachel is doing a LOT better and has started singing with us again. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Bailey Grace is doing great too! I forgot to get pictures up, but will try to get some up this week!
Ashley has once again started her clinical work at the IMA Clinic in Tupelo. She is still enjoying it!! We hope you won’t have to see her anytime soon – but she will be happy to help you out! (In case you didn’t know, Ashley is working to be a X-Ray Technician)
Crystal is doing great! The pregnancy is right on schedule and we have gotten great reports each time we go to the doctor. It’s hard to believe that in 10 ½ weeks, Sunnie Bella will be here. Thanks again for your continued prayers!!
I’d like to quickly tell you about a special opportunity we’ve been blessed to be a part of. Members of the Shema Music Competition in Fayette, Alabama called and asked us to participate in a unique “contest.” We were a little stand offish at first because we do not want to seem as we are competing against other ministries. We decided to become a part of this contest because the winning prize – of $2500 – will be given to the winning group’s charity of choice. This is a great concept – a contest that worships the Lord and helps others! God gets all the glory and EVERYONE is a winner of blessings! Our singing time was today and we were part of 4 groups that made it to the semi-finals. Click here for more information on this wonderful cause.
CD UPDATE
Our 2nd CD is being mastered! As soon as those get back to us – it’s off to the printers and out to you!! So…yeah…I guess the “early summer” date is not going to make it. I told you so!! Some of the waiting has not been entirely my fault though! We’ve also been awaiting approval from BMI to get Ashley’s song “In His Hands” copyrighted & registered. That approval has come in and will be title track for this project. We’re so excited for this long awaited CD! Work on our 3rd CD has begun! This will be the one with all of the hymns. I’m not EVEN going to put a date on this one!!
Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and our upcoming schedule.
I’m sure you’ve noticed our good friend’s – Bama Blu-Grace – schedule. If you can make it to one of their shows, you will be blessed!!
We love you all! Come see us soon!
In Christ,
Josh
Another month down!! Time sure flies!! We've had an awesome month and I don't really know where to start!!
First off, I want to ask for your prayers on behalf of Rachel. She has been battling a bad case of food poisoning. We thank the Lord that it wasn’t life threatening, but to ask Rachel, she feels like death!! She’s been feeling pretty bad for about a week now and could really use the prayers. She will obviously be out for our next couple of singings until she gets better.
Miss Bailey Grace is doing wonderful and growing like a weed!! If I can get some pictures, I’ll post them up for you all to see!!
Ashley has just completed this school year and is enjoying the summer! She says many days will be spent catching up on some sleep! We’re so proud of her and her accomplishments!
Crystal and I are doing pretty good too! Our baby is doing well and everything is still on target for September 8th! I’ve FINALLY gotten to feel her kick – the baby, not Crystal…
I want to take this time to thank all the churches and places that have allowed us to come sing this half of the year:
Riverplace Nursing Home
Unity Broadcasting
WBIP Raido
Fawn Grove Free Will
The Fishing Hole
Lee Memorial Baptist
Carnation Baptist
Vernon Backstreet Opry
Ashcraft Corner Baptist
Ahava Springs Bluegrass Gospel Festival
Woodland Baptist
Liberty Grove Baptist
Golden Chapel Methodist
You all have been a blessing!! We’re looking forward to the next half of the year!
We’re on Facebook now!! Click over to see what we’re up to!!
We love you all and look forward to seeing you again soon!
In Christ,
Josh
OH WOW!! I totally forgot about the CD Update!!
The CD is DONE….sort of. Well, as it turns out, we had enough room for 2 more songs, so we decided to add them. This late change will not delay the process much, but maybe about 2 weeks. So, please bear with us just a little bit longer. At least instead of 10 songs, we’ll now have 12!! So exciting! God gets the glory!!
Well, we’ve gotten through another month almost and the temperatures are warming up!! I suppose summer is just around the corner! I hope everyone made it through the April showers ok – or should I say April storms. I know there were some counties and families that are still going through a time due to the storms. Please know that our prayers are with you!
Bailey is doing a little better. Since the last newsletter, she has gotten better and gotten sick again! But, to look at her, she’s just as pretty and happy as I’ve ever seen her!
Crystal is doing great as well. She has started to feel her moving around!! Did you catch that?? I said “HER”!! Yep! It’s a girl!! Crystal and I are excited and are getting her room ready…slowly…but we’re getting there!! I hear I’m gonna get help from my sisters before too long…at least I hope I’m still gonna get that help! Crystal and I have decided to name her Sunnie Bella. We are naming her after my mother, Sunshine.
CD UPDATE
Ok – we are in the final stages before sending it to the press!! We may be doing a pre-order head count for those who are interested. If so, email us and we’ll let you know when it’s in!! I’m thrilled that our second project is FINALLY close to complete! Thank you, Lord!!
Some of you have been asking about our dear friends from Bama Blu-Grace. They are now back up to speed and have all of their equipment replaced – minus a trailer. A special thanks goes to the Primitive Quartet who sent them some microphones they are no longer using!
Well, that’s all for now!! We’ll see ya back here before too long!!
In Christ,
Josh
After a great weekend of singing, I find myself at the computer uplifted and encouraged!! Thanks to all of those this past month for having us over! It has really been a blessing for us and God gets the glory!!
We ask prayers on behalf of Miss. Bailey Grace. Rachel says that she believes Bailey has an ear infection and is NOT a happy camper!! She is a tough little girl though and she’ll be just fine soon enough…we hope!
Crystal is feeling much better as well. Everything is still on schedule and our due date is September 8th. In a couple of weeks, we’ll find out what we’re having….so pray for me!! We’ll announce that in the April newsletter.
CD UPDATE
We have finished up about 70% of the 2nd CD and are going to go ahead and start our 3rd. Once we touch up a couple of things (which I plan to finish this week…fingers crossed) the 2nd one should be ready to go. It will take about 6 to 8 weeks for the printers, so – I’M HOPING for a early Summer release!! Right now, I can tell you that the requested “Brighter Day”, “In His Hands” & “The Man in the Middle” will be on the CD. As for the rest of the CD – you’ll just have to wait a little longer…
We hope to be getting some pictures made real soon for the album cover and other needs so we’re real excited about that!!
We also ask that you be in prayer for our dear friends of the band Bama Blu-Grace. This past week, someone took off with their equipment trailer that had everything in it with the exception of their instruments. They are hurt by it, but are strong Christian men and women who believe that God will be uplifted during this time. They have also asked for prayers for the ones wh
